4 Team playoff has been approved by the BCS
Still to be decided: the name of new event, the composition of and procedures for the selection committee and the revenue-sharing formula.

I would rather have the former bcs poll decide...
rather than just human perception. Although I think this favors us in the end…We’ll have a solid enough schedule in the Big East that I think we’d have to get in if undefeated.

You would think so...
But I still highly doubt it. Even undefeated we’ll have a hard time getting rid of the perception issue when compared to 1 loss Big 4 teams…
I’ll give you a prime example: last year, Oklahoma State was just as deserving of going to the MNC game against LSU as Alabama was. Still, they didn’t get in because of the perception that the SEC is the best conference in all of college football despite the fact that every computer ranking and most statisticians had the Big 12 as the all-around best conference last year.
Add just two more teams to that mix and an undefeated Boise has the same issue as Oklahoma State last year… probably even more of an uphill battle.

It really should have been 12...
More teams, and still very much top-tier ones at that. One extra week onto the season. No more games than with the 8-team format except for MAYBE 2 of the teams. Plus, the top 4 would get rewarded with a bye in playoff week 1…

Blu Grit is right...
Nothing has changed for Boise State. Still have to go unbeaten to have a chance. And thats for just a chance.
