The Boise State football pre-spring depth chart of guesses

Boise State football spring practice begins Monday morning, and we should have our first highly speculative, highly breathless reports no later than Monday noon. Bronco Nation is nothing if not unhealthily addicted to football.

Speaking of football addiction, I took it upon myself to create a Boise State depth chart going into spring football. It is incomplete in parts and horrendously wrong in others, but it's a start. Let me know where you agree or disagree in the comments.

Slot receiver - Kirby Moore vs. Chris Potter

Is this the year that Kirby Moore makes good on his high-school-football-star potential now that he's rid of that dead weight of a brother? Will Chris Potter outperform expectations once again since those expectations are based on the fact that he weighs less than a Jonas brother?

Quarterback - Joe Southwick vs. Grant Hedrick vs. Jimmy Laughrea vs. Nick Patti

Will we know anything more about the QB race by the spring game?.Is it just going to come down to sudden death cake walk like everyone expects it to?

Center - Cory Yriarte vs. Matt Paradis

Is Yriarte ready to fill Thomas Byrd's shoes and traditional center girdle? How much has Paradis grown since last season - I mean both in girth and in talent?

Left tackle - Faraji Wright vs. Michael Ames

Is the Michael Ames Era here? Wasn't Faraji Wright a guard at one point? Am I fooling myself because the correct answer to any Boise State offensive line position battle is "the guy no one realized was still on the roster"?

Defensive end - Demarcus Lawrence vs. Tyler Horn vs. Kharyee Marshall vs. Nick Alexander vs. Others

What can we realistically expect from Demarcus Lawrence, I mean besides 20 sacks and an All-American team appearance? Does the Idaho Press-Tribune have its mildly inappropriate Tyler Horn headline puns ready? "Defensive line feeling Horn-y," anyone? Where did we put Kharyee Marshall - oh, never mind, there he is, he was just standing sideways.

Middle linebacker - Tommy Smith vs. Blake Renaud

How long can Tommy Smith stay healthy, considering only 33 percent of his bones are his? Is Blake Renaud God's gift to linebackers starting this season or next?

Free safety and strong safety - Jeremy Ioane vs. Lee Hightower vs. Taylor Loffler vs. Hazen Moss vs. Dillon Lukehart vs. Others

Does everyone still have their hopes way up for Ioane like I do? Lee Hightower is a sure thing, right? What is the difference between Loffler and Moss and Lukehart?

Kicker - Michael Frisina vs. Dan Goodale vs. Jake Van Ginkel
