Looks like Big West to have a non-FB sports slot available, maybe
Current Big West member Pacific is slated to announce that they'll be moving to WCC in 2013. This is slightly good news for BSU if the WAC crumbles as we expect. With all the Big West changes (adding SDSU, Hawaii, and losing Pacific) I think this means they'll be at 10. WCC adding Pacific now brings them to 10. BW could easily stick with 10 but if a couple WAC schools needed (SJSU, Seattle, BSU for example) do you think they'd take them? I never heard to much about Big West options when we were shopping our non-Olympic sports around but as much as I would rather be in the BW it's hard to think it that possible... We don't have a baseball team and they already expanded their geographical footprint and travel costs by adding Hawaii. Thoughts?

Yes, I think they would take us and Seattle. Not in a heartbeat, but they'd take us.
Our non-FB sports may not be as big as FB, but the name Boise State is still a big draw. I think the media viewers would be interested in seeing just what else is BSU good at and tune in.

Sounds like a good fall back option...
Only after BSU has done everything they possibly can to convince the WCC to take them.

I've given up on that WCC wish
Especially after seeing WCC pick up Pacific and not being interested in SDSU or BSU. If WCC went to 12 I could see them going after Denver (Private Methodist school like Pacific) and AFA. BYU would lobby for AFA, AFA would want their football in BE.
If BYU bolts (that Big 12 invite that never comes) then I could see a slight chance for BSU to make their case

Big worry about getting our ticket to Big West=Baseball
Boy it’d be funny to have football in Big East and the rest in Big West

NO!
I refuse to give up on the WCC invite. I’m steadfast in ignoring logic and reason, and pressing on.

In my heart I'd agree with the WCC invite sentiment, but
Right now, I’d setlle for anything that wasn’t spelled WAC.

UTA, UTSA might back out of WAC
UTA may back out of WAC if two more schools leave. http://www.theshorthorn.com/index.php/sports/uta-athletics/29819-uta-ad-mavs-might-not-join-wac. (Well, that WILL happen. Utah State, and maybe San Jose State will go to the MWC. LaTech will go to CUSA. And UTSA may go to the SunBelt if it doesn’t get an invite from CUSA http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/blog/brett-mcmurphy/18111920/georgia-state-possible-addition-for-sun-belt probably followed by Texas State.) The WAC is dead. dUI needs to go back to the Big Sky.

I saw that earlier
Glad to see that we have a Big West fall back option if the WAC implodes. I concur that the WCC is a very long shot if not impossible otherwise they would be a fantastic home for our other sports.
