Idaho president Duane Nellis not taking loss of "flagship university" tag very well

He issued a statement via his Facebook page yesterday to show his displeasure with the State Board of Education's decision. A sample:

We are THE University of Idaho

Cue U of I's next big thing, ripping off the "THE" from Ohio State. The SBOE said that the decision to remove the term was to promote collegial relationships between universities. We'll see how that goes. But for all the disappointed U of I fans wanting to tout their history, what have you done for me lately?

Boise State stadium expansion bond gets the go ahead

In the other news of the day, the SBOE approved the $17.5 million bond for the construction of the new football complex. The total bill is expected to be $22 million. Boise State has $4.5 million on hand to start and another $7.8 million in pledges that will be used to make payments on the bond through 2019. Again, what have you done for me lately?

5 TCU players failed drug test, not 82

Well that was a little off. The initial story in the Fort Worth Star Telegram had estimations that as high as 82 TCU football players had failed the surprise drug test by Gary Patterson. Yesterday, they corrected that number. Apparently only marijuana was detected also.
