Wake up, Bronco Nation: Boise State football links and things, 12-6-12

Boise State basketball falls to Utah 76-55

The Utes honored former coach Rick Majerus who passed away last week and that seemed to propel the Utes. They shot 75% from the field in the first half and quickly built a lead. Boise State was out rebounded 31-8 and only managed to shoot 40.4% from the field. Boise State is now 6-2 and will play again at home on Friday night against LSU.

Could you have seen Chris Petersen doing this?

That was Bret Bielma at his Arkansas press conference doing "Woo Pig Sooie." In other coaching news, Cal hired Sonny Dykes yesterday. That firmly shut the door on two of the Coach Pete rumors but of course, when one door closes, another door opens. Last night the Wisconsin State Journal reported that Wisconsin was in contact with Petersen and he could interview as soon as Monday. It didn't take long for that to be refuted though. Sporting News Matt Hayes reported that Petersen is not interviewing at Wisconsin. However, don't expect this to die until Wisconsin hires a new coach though.

Titus Young placed on IR, Jim Schwartz addresses injury

Troubled WR Titus Young was placed on injured reserve as a creative way for the Lions to not have to deal with him the rest of the year. When Schwartz was asked about Young's knee injury, he replied, "Yeah, most likely. Unless he doesn't show up for it." I think that about sums up Titus Young's status with the Lions at this point.
