2013 Recruit Roundup: December 23, 2012

Every prep season is over by now, with several commits even competing in all-state games...but since more recruits are jumping on board the Bronco ship...the recruit roundup is back for yet another week and the newbies are called out in large print near the bottom of this article.

Ryan Finley, QB, Paradise Valley High School (Phoenix, AZ)

Season over - Final stats: 3,442 yards through the air, 35 TDs and just 8 interceptions. On the ground, he accounted for another 3 scores and 282 rushing yards.

Joe Martarano, MLB, Fruitland High School (Fruitland, ID)

Season over - Final stats: 1,240 passing yards and 13 TDs. 551 rushing yards and 10 TDs. 147 tackles on defense. Led team to state championship game.

Alec Dhaenens, TE, Fruitland High School (Fruitland, ID)

DNP (ACL)

Jack Austin, WR, Chino Hills High School (Chino Hills, CA)

Season over - Final stats: 1,128 receiving yards and 6 TDs. Team finished 7-3-1

Aaron Baltazar, RB, Eastlake High School (Chula Vista, CA)

Season over - Final stats: 1,851 yards rushing and 23 TDs. 73 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 INT.

Tanner Vallejo, LB, Nevada Union High School (Grass Valley, CA)

Season over - Final stats: 129 tackles, 1 sack, 5 hurries, 1 INT, 1 PBU, 2 forced fumbles and 3 recoveries. Offensively, Vallejo rushed for 414 yards and 8 scores.

Durrant Miles, LB/DE, Bingham High School (South Jordan, UT)

Season over - Final stats: 64 tackles, 10 sacks, 1 INT, 12 QB Hurries, 2 fumble recoveries, 5 PBUs and a safety.

Mat Boesen, LB/TE, West High School (Torrance, CA)

Season over - Final stats: 60 receptions for 895 yards and 5 TDs. 121 total tackles (29 for loss), 16 sacks, 2 PBUs.

Justin Taimatuia, DT, Fort Scott Community College (KS)

Season over - Final stats (if the FS Greyhounds site is correct): at least 30 tackles (8.5 for loss), 2 sacks, 1 fumble recovery and a pass breakup on the year—if I find out any different, I'll let you know.

Mercy Maston, CB Bakersfield Community College (CA)

Season over - Bakersfield defeated City College of San Francisco last weekend to win the California state title. Maston had 10 tackles and a pass break-up in the title game and finished the year with (by my count) 68 tackles (2.5 for loss), 2 INTs, 7 PBUs, 2 forced fumbles, and a blocked kick.

Here's a link to a brief news story about Maston's commitment.

Andrew Tercek, OL, East Central High School (San Antonio, TX)

Season over - Squad finished 8-4.

Eli McCullough, OT, Rocky Mountain High School (Meridian, ID)

Season over - The Grizzlies finished 6-4 and suffered a first-round playoff loss to Couer d'Alene.

Tyler Rausa, PK, Riverside City College (Riverside, CA)

Season over - Final stats: 15-20 on field goals on the year with a long of 48 and 52-of-53 on PATs.

Nick Terry, DT, Pleasant Grove High School (Elk Grove, CA)

Season over - Final stats: 55 tackles, 1 sack and a PBU. PGHS finished with a 7-5 record.

Kamalei Correa, DT, St. Louis High School (Honolulu, HI)

Season over - Final stats not logged: Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Gabe Perez, OLB/DE, Valencia High School (Valencia, CA)

Season over - Final stats: 51 tackles, 7 sacks, 12 hurries, 5 PBUs, 2 forced fumbles. 375 yards rushing, 85 receiving, 5 TDs.

Kendal Keys, WR, Helix High School (San Diego, CA)

Season over - Helix went 10-1 on the year, but lost to Poway in the 2nd round of the CIF playoffs. Keys was named first team All-CIF by the San Diego Hall of Champions. No season stats have been found for Keys as of yet, but here's his junior highlight tape.

Derrick Thomas, RB, Butler CC (El Dorado, KS)

Season over - Final stats: 157 rushes for 829 yards and 9 TDs. 17 receptions for 166 yards and 2 TDs. Thomas had 1,622 rushing yards and 17 total TDs in his 2 years at Butler CC.

Cleshawn Page, CB, LA Harbor College (Los Angeles, CA)

Season over - Final stats: 44 tackles (2.5 for loss), 4 PBUS, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recover, 17.5 yards/kick return average.

Thomas Sperbeck, ATH, Jesuit High School (Carmichael, CA)

Season over - Final stats: 1,039 yards passing, 13 TDs, 9 INTs. 932 rushing yards, 9 TDs. 69 tackles, 1 sack, 2 PBUs, 89-yard fumble return.

Tutulupeatau Mataele, DT, Mt. San Antonio College

"Deuce" Mataele signed with the Broncos on the earliest JC signing day (which is a great thing, because Justin Taimatuia has yet to sign, nor has Mercy Maston). Mataele helped the Mt. SAC squad to an 11-1 season. Final stats: 42 tackles (14.5 for loss), 10.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles.

Jake Roh, WR/OLB, Chaparral High School (Scottsdale, AZ)

Roh pulled announced yesterday that he'd chosen the Broncos over Iowa...and it looks like the talented ATH will be playing TE for the Broncos...but we'll just see if that sticks or not. Roh's team went 8-4 this year and ultimately fell in the second round of the state playoffs. His final stats: 805 receiving yards, 13 TDs. 72 tackles, 4 sacks, 4 INTs, 12 PBUs and a forced fumble.

That's it for this week. If you have any stats, info, or otherwise to report, I would greatly appreciate it. Just send HERE.
