2013 Recruit Roundup: November 4th, 2012

Well, that was unpleasant. But hey...2013 verbal commits in action!

Ryan Finley, QB, Paradise Valley High School (Phoenix, AZ)

Paradise Valley's season ended on Friday night with a loss to Liberty in the playoffs. It was the second loss of the year to Liberty for the Trojans, who finished at 7-4 on the year. Finley, in typical fashion, had a great game in the first round playoff loss—throwing for 277 yards and 2 TDs and also rushing for 48 yards. On the season, Finley had an impressive 3,442 yards through the air, 35 TDs and just 8 interceptions. On the ground, he accounted for another 3 scores and 282 rushing yards.

Joe Martarano, MLB, Fruitland High School (Fruitland, ID)

Fruitland advanced to the state semis with a 35-18 win over Payette on Friday night. The Grizzlies will take on 6-4 Timberlake this weekend. Martarano scored twice in the win, including a 13-yard pick six.

Alec Dhaenens, TE, Fruitland High School (Fruitland, ID)

DNP (ACL)

Jack Austin, WR, Chino Hills High School (Chino Hills, CA)

Chino Hills had another huge win on Friday night—handing South Hills a 56-7 loss to move to 7-2-1 on the year with a first-round playoff matchup with Redlands looming next week. Austin led all receivers in the contest with 76 yards on just 4 catches...including a 52 yard TD reception. On the season, Austin has 972 receiving yards and 6 TDs.

Aaron Baltazar, RB, Eastlake High School (Chula Vista, CA)

Eastlake defeated Otay Ranch 27-6 on Friday night to cap off their regular season at 7-3 and secure a playoff spot (opponent TBA). Unfortunately, I couldn't find any stats for Baltazar from the game...I'll try to give his full season stats once the season is in the books.

Tanner Vallejo, LB, Nevada Union High School (Grass Valley, CA)

Nevada Union dropped their regular season finale to Granite Bay on Friday night by a score of 38-7 and finished their schedule with a 5-5 record. Apparently, Nevada Union will play on though and will take on Franklin next weekend in a first-round playoff game. In Friday's loss, Vallejo notched 14 tackles and a QB hurry. On the year, Tanner has 119 tackles, 1 sack, 4 QB hurries, 1 INT, 2 PBUs, 2 forced fumbles and 3 recoveries. Offensively, he's accounted for 402 yards from scrimmage and 7 TDs.

Durrant Miles, LB/DE, Bingham High School (South Jordan, UT)

Bingham easily won their first round playoff game against Fremont on Friday night by a score of 38-0 and will now move to the next round to play Syracuse this Thursday. Game stats were not released, so again, I'll have to get Durrant's full season recap when this whole thing's in the books. At last count, he had 6 sacks.

Mat Boesen, LB/TE, West High School (Torrance, CA)

West wrapped up their regular season with a dominant 50-7 win over Leuzinger to finish with a 7-3 record and a first round playoff spot sewed up against St. Joseph. Boesen had just one reception for 19 yards and a TD in the contest but had 9 tackles, 3 sacks and a forced fumble on defense. On the year, Boesen has 38 receptions for 578 yards and 4 TDs and 83 tackles (19 for loss), 12 sacks, and a PBU on defense.

Justin Taimatuia, DT, Fort Scott Community College (KS)

The Greyhounds season is over and Taimatuia's stats are anyone's guess. If the FS Greyhounds site is correct, JT had at least 30 tackles (8.5 for loss), 2 sacks, 1 fumble recovery and a pass breakup on the year—if I find out any different, I'll let you know.

Mercy Maston, CB Bakersfield Community College (CA)

Bakersfield defeated Allan Hancock College on Saturday and moved to 7-2 on the year. Maston had 8 tackles in the win. On the year, Maston has 46 tackles, 2 INTs (including a 79-yard pick six), 2 tackles-for-loss, 6 PBUs, a forced fumble and a kick block.

Andrew Tercek, OL, East Central High School (San Antonio, TX)

East Central defeated South San Antonio 28-0 on Friday and moved to 6-3 on the year with one regular season game left to play. East Central will play King on Friday and cross their fingers for a playoff berth.

Eli McCullough, OT, Rocky Mountain High School (Meridian, ID)

Rocky Mountain ended their season on Friday night with a tough 45-0 loss to defending 5A state champ Coeur d'Alene. The Grizzlies started out their season 6-0, but dropped the final four contests.

Tyler Rausa, PK, Riverside City College (Riverside, CA)

Boise State's newest commit, JUCO placekicker Tyler Rausa, is 12-of-15 on the year for field goals. RCC is 8-1.

That's it for this week...but hopefully we'll be adding to our list of recruits as the season wears on. If you have any stats, info, or otherwise to report, I would greatly appreciate it. Just send HERE.
