OBNUG Pick 'Em Contest: Eliminator picks for Week Nine

Well, we are down to nine people left standing unscathed after our own Drew fell last week. He decided to take a chance on Washington but they were unable to contain Rich Rod's spread option attack and Arizona prevailed.

We are in week nine so the nine people left below are kind of fitting.
  • wrrolling
  • bronconationeast
  • Yamani_luvbsu
  • well versed
  • LoneSausages
  • Jennifer Nguyen
  • Majormike53
  • BleedBlue

Good luck to you all. We have seven weeks left in our competition. The three of us are out of contention at this point with one loss a piece but we're still trying. Here's what I'm banking on this week:

Louisiana Tech over New Mexico State

It sure is nice to have Louisiana Tech still available to pick this late in the season.

ELIMINATOR: Come play games with us!

Louisiana Tech is a nice surprise this year. I avoided picking them early as I wasn't sure how good they were. Well, now after seeing their performance against Texas A&M and how they could still beat up on a bad team with Idaho, I'm all in on them destroying New Mexico State. At least one team in New Mexico you can still count on for a loss.

Nick was eliminated in Week Four

Previous Nick picks: Utah, TCU, Washington, Air Force, BYU, Nevada, San Diego State, Oregon State

Oregon over Colorado

I saved Oregon for this game, thinking "man, Colorado is terrible and will probably give up 100 points." It's the same strategy I used last week in LaTech versus Idaho, and that worked out pretty well for me. Idaho is terrible, Colorado is terrible. Picking against them is my new Eliminator strategy (should have been my strategy from the start).

Kevan was eliminated in Week Two.

Previous Kevan picks: Air Force, UNLV, Washington State, Utah State, Nevada, Fresno State, San Diego State, Louisiana Tech

Oregon State over Washington

Well, it looks like I'm finally toast and at least I went out with a bang. I chose UW straight up over Arizona and they got their clocks cleaned. So THAT'S why my mom always told me "play it safe". At any rate, I figure that Washington at least showed me their cards, and that's why I feel pretty confident that Oregon State will defeat the paper dawgs. Or that I'm officially out of the winner's pool things just don't matter to me as much anymore.

Drew was eliminated in Week Eight.

Previous Drew picks: Stanford, TCU, Oregon, Boise State, Fresno State, Louisiana Tech, San Diego State, Washington

Wanna play?

The OBNUG Eliminator challenge is open to anyone and everyone who knows how to use a Google document or begs us really hard in the comments to use a Google document for them.

Enter your weekly pick into the Eliminator form.

One big rule: You can't pick the same team twice.

Additional rules are 1) don't cheat and screw with the spreadsheet, 2) make your picks before your game starts, 3) keep playing as long as you want after you pick wrong. All other rules are meaningless to the extent that I cannot remember them now.

Winner gets a free Deuce Brand watch.

Pick. Survive. Gloat. Enjoy.

We will be playing this for 14 weeks so we have selected a list of 20 teams to pick from. These include all Mountain West teams as well as a selection of regional teams and, for those who love making bad decisions, Idaho.
