Brent Pease tells Statesman he has not decide to leave Boise State but is checking his options
This after Pease was reported to be leaving Boise and on his way to Florida to become their new offensive coordinator this past weekend. He was reportedly in Gainsville on Friday interviewing for the position. He is also reportedly waiting until after the BCS Championship game tonight to meet with Alabama about becoming their new offensive coordinator so Pease could just be stalling cause he hasn't officially accepted an offer yet.
Robert Prince could be in line to become new offensive coordinator
Prince who had previously been the wide receivers coach for Boise State from 2001 to 2003, rejoined the staff last year after the Harsin departure. The year before he had been the wide receivers coach at Colorado under Dan Hawkins after spending 6 years in the NFL as an offensive assistant with the Falcons, Jaguars and then Seahawks. Boise State has always had success with promoting within and I'm sure Petersen and Prince can work together to keep the offensive juggernaut rolling.
Kyle Brotzman has become a spokesperson for downtrodden kickers everywhere
Brotzman spoke to Pete Thamel of the New York Times about his experience with missing crucial kicks and tried to reach out to Alabama kicker Cade Foster after Alabama's loss to LSU earlier in the season. Recently, Brotzman has tried to reach out to Stanford kicker Jordan Williamson who missed a potentially game winning field goal in the Fiesta Bowl. I have to say that this outcome for Brotzman is the best timeline.
Doug Martin and Billy Winn receive combine invitations
Well things appear to be coming along swimmingly. This puts the Boise State combine invitation list at 6. That already included Kellen Moore, George Iloka, Shea McClellin and Nate Potter. Still waiting for invites for Chase Baker, Tyrone Crawford and Kyle Efaw though. Come on, NFL!
