It sure is nice to have that depth that everyone says that we don't have.
Brian Murphy gives an inside look at scheduling the Boise State - BYU series
There are some interesting nuggets uncovered. Bleymaier was a big proponent of the series and had laid out 21 reasons why this is good for Boise State. Of course, the whole deal goes up in smoke if BYU joins the Big XII. Hooray for unsubstantiated rumors and random tweets!
Speak of conference realignment, Craig Thompson doesn't think the Big East is that desirable
I understand where Craig is coming from and I realize he has to do anything and everything to convince schools not to abandon ship. But the Big East has one thing that the MWC does (and it's not better football), an AQ bid to the BCS. As long as it has that, the Big East will be a more desirable conference, at least in the short term.
Chris Ault once criticized the quality of Boise State players (HT: SeniorChief)
Thanks to SeniorChief for digging up this gem. Apparently it's from 1994 and Ault didn't think there was any sense in continuing a rivalry unless Boise State can "improve the quality of their players". I hope this quote is still hanging up in the locker room.
