There weren't many results this weekend to help Boise State's ascent up the polls too much. Ranked teams Michigan State, Ohio State and Florida State all lost but were all ranked behind Boise State.
It could only have been better if Mr. Baker had taken it to the house. There are few things the world universally loves, but fat guy touchdowns are one of them.
Overall, I'd say this is a fair assessment but I do take issue with a few things. I don't think any of us saw any of the gaudy stats from Friday night's win of Toledo without seeing some of Boise State's shortcomings in the game. I prefer to think that Boise State routed a good Toledo team despite the defensive lapses and kicking miscues. If number 1 teams can "win ugly" on the road, then Boise State deserves that benefit of the doubt. And, yes, that was Boise State's version of an ugly win on the road.

Guess the ACC saw the writing on the wall and preemptively struck by nabbing Pittsburgh and Syracuse from the Big East. Now UConn is also trying to get in. Larry Scott from the Pac 12 now is in talks with Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State to join. Now, I have to believe TCU is feeling a little like Boise State did last year when everyone in their new league is leaving before they get there.
So long, Coach Taylor. It was a great ride and great to finally see Friday Night Lights get some recognition. Guess that's what happens when Breaking Bad isn't eligible this year.
Happy belated birthdays!
It's been awhile since we've had some birthdays around here but Saturday was our very own muscle hamster, polynikes57's, birthday and yesterday was fellow Nampa Christian alum and current player Dustin Kamper's birthday.
