Look at it as a positive
We get a great band playing ours songs AND the school saves the expense of sending the BSU band.

As a former band member
I hate the idea of having a substitute band for such a big game. I can understand that sending the band to every road game would be cost prohibitive, but this payout is better than most bowl games.
Is BSU’s band the best? No, it isn’t. Am I glad that an awesome band is playing instead? I guess it could be worse. Do I understand that nobody goes to football games to see the band? Of course I do, but that’s not the point. If you want to have a band at the game, use your own.
Why not rent some other school’s cheerleaders? Maybe the Indianapolis Colts’ horse mascot could make the shorter trip to save BSU the cost of sending Buster. I guarantee lots of administrators unaffiliated with the football program are getting a free trip out of this like they do for bowl games. But screw the band.

I'm sure you are right
but the Morris Brown band will certainly add some Soul to the song. I’ve seen a few videos of them and they know how to get down. I was a bandroid back in high school (Tuba player) and I have always loved the marching bands in the South because not only could they play but they could seriously dance. Being a white guy with no real rhythm, I don’t think I could ever move my tuba like that. I love watching the Grambling State vs Southern University battle of the bands during the Bayou Classic every year. It’s better than the actual football game.
I do think it is too bad that we couldn’t bring the band but I understand why they chose not to.
