Wake up, Bronco Nation: Boise State football links and things, 6-30-11

Happy last day in the WAC, everybody.

Parting is such sweet sorrow, unless you are the webmaster at the WAC website who has already scrubbed the site clean of all Boise State logos.

In honor of Boise State's final WAC day before tomorrow's Mountain West introduction, Brian Murphy says some nice things in a Statesman story, the Las Vegas Review Journal welcomes the Broncos to the MWC, and the Boise State website - in the weirdest way possible - seeks to explain that the university is about more than just blue turf.

Farewell, WAC. And thanks for the copious amount of blowout wins.

Lindy's magazine spoilers

If you were waiting to spend a hard-earned $7.99 on a Lindy's college football preview magazine, you may want to close your eyes for this part: BroncoSports reports that three Broncos have been named to Lindy's All-America teams and eight Broncos are All-Mountain West. The All-Americans are Nate Potter (first team), Kellen Moore (second team), and Billy Winn (second team). The magazine also picks BSU to win the Mountain West, which makes Lindy's pretty much like every other preview magazine out there.

Which is better: college football or the NFL?

CBS Sports columnist Gregg Doyel picks college football in a landslide. Was it the FOX Sports robot? Because we can get rid of him.

Phil Steele would like to remind everyone how often he is right

In the 5 years I have posted my Top non-AQ team ALL FIVE have gone to BCS bowls and ALL FIVE have finished as the best non-AQ team! This year I'm going for SIX IN A ROW, my call is for the Boise St Broncos to go unbeaten and be the top non-AQ team in the country this year!

Steele: "And never mind about that Landry Jones first-team All-America pick. I was on a pretty heavy dose of Adderall at the time."
