Are those the bowl game unis?
I drove past the stadium on my way to work this morning, noticed the old banner, and wondered when they were going to hang new ones. I can’t wait!

Yep, those are the bowl unis. The Maaco Bowl patch is still on it.
He’s holding the usual helmet, so I’m guessing they are keeping those instead of the new Pro Combat helmets. Which is a little disapointing, but oh well…
I just can’t wait to see them in these!

Unis are all fine. Our guys will look awesome in them, no matter what….but
I want to know about the cleats and shoes…
Do we have ones that will let our linemen stick, grab, and poke?
Do we have ones that will let our receivers fly down the field on gossamer wings?

Why did they tease me with the Pro Combat Helmet just to take it away!
Let’s be honest, it looks much more aggressive than the mashed Boise State/Bronco head of current attire. It couldn’t hurt recruiting either. I know that helmet was, is, popular with the youngsters. DO WHAT I SAY! Pro Combat Helmet, Maaco Bowl Uni, amazing uniform.

pick a uniform and stick with it imo
same goes for virginia tech, since i know some of you would call me out for it. i liked that they finally chose the throwbacks and are apparently sticking to them, though less of a helmet circus would be great too. to me boise state’s image is and will forever be the orange pants from the fiesta bowl. those should forever be part of your away uniform. all white is generic. all blue is cool because of the blue turf. blue lids, white shirts and orange pants are boise state.

all whites may be a bit generic, but they come off as more professional to me. the orange pants seem (and I can’t believe I’m about to say this) kinda gimmicky… like they’re feeding the whole “BSU is just a gimmicky football team” machine.
I would crap my pants if we pulled out the all white Pro Combats (with white Pro Combat helmet) pictured above.

i wonder if once upon a time Washington's live Husky mascot, or Georgia's UGA mascot, or LSU's tiger were thought of as gimicky
Okay, maybe not LSU’s tiger because that thing is beyond cool and means business, but some traditions are born out of gimmicks. I was thinking a while ago that in the long run, Boise State beating Virginia Tech off a trick play or two would have been worse for their rep than losing outright. They won that game fair and square with no gimmicks or trick plays involved and gained respect that no one can deny.
idk. i just really think of the orange pants when i think of BSU. i’m not a big fan of every school in the world doing the uniform mix and match. it was novel with oregon but now its just stupid.

not denying it, they were cool.
but they weren’t virginia tech, you know? they had the VT logo and was worn by the team but other than that it just wasn’t what virginia tech is about. i guess i’m just tired of Nike and UA taking liberties with the identities and traditions of schools.
it’s like the packers coming out with the old throwbacks. or the canadiens having a jersey redesign. it just makes me think “Huh? What? why?”
