Today is the day that Boise State finds out its bowl fate. ESPN's selection show begins at 6:15 MT with Rece Davis, Brad Edwards, and Craig James playing the role of the orangutan from Any Which Way But Loose. Chief among the burning questions ...

Can Boise State get a BCS bowl?

Share your thoughts in this open thread throughout the day, and feel free to post links to polls, rumors of polls, and rumors of pairings. Refresh the OBNUG site for updates when it's relevant, and check after the jump for any breaking news of importance.

The day of reckoning is here. Go Broncos!

Important things!

ESPN expert Brad Edwards kicked things off this morning with his BCS analysis in which he presented a couple different scenarios, depending on who is in the national championship game.

If Alabama gets placed in the Allstate BCS National Championship Game, I can envision the following matchups for the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and the Allstate Sugar Bowl:

Fiesta -- Oklahoma State vs. Stanford
Sugar -- Michigan vs. Boise State

If Oklahoma State earns the No. 2 spot, however, here's how I see things shaking out:

Fiesta -- Kansas State vs. Michigan
Sugar -- Alabama vs. Stanford

One simplifying factor for both teams is that Virginia Tech almost certainly took itself out of the at-large mix by losing such a lopsided game to Clemson.

Speaking about Virginia Tech ...

Reports say that the Hokies will be in the Chick-fil-a Bowl against Auburn, so it sounds like Brad Edwards is right (unless Danny Sheridan is to be believed).

If the VT rumors are true, than that would leave the final at-large choices to Boise State and K-State. Guess what? No more K-State, maybe.

Keep those fingers crossed.
