10. Boise State will open the season by beating Georgia in Atlanta, but won't compete for the national title. The Broncos finally can erase the tired "They got killed when they came to Athens in 2005" argument that every SEC fan trots out when explaining why Boise State would rank somewhere between Vanderbilt and Ole Miss if it played an SEC schedule. Unfortunately for Boise State, the Broncos have to go to Fort Worth to face TCU in the only season the two programs will be Mountain West Conference foes. That game should erase quarterback Kellen Moore's last chance to lead Boise State to the BCS title game.
Say what? TCU is replacing so many pieces from this years team. BSU still has Kellen "Dork Assassin" Moore and Doug "Muscle Hamster" Martin. Ridiculous.

One article said we are replacing 1/3 of our starters; well.
Let’s break it down: O-line-return 3 of 5. plus couple who have started and couple more who could’ve . D-line: 3 of 4, and Crawford is equal to "Swck. QB & RB-return. 2nd RB Harper-if he’s 100%, he’s our BEST RB! LBs-we’re sick at LB plus return Hout.
So, areas of concern are: Secondary & WR. Have Taylor our best CB IMO. Have Iloka-scary good. Need corner and 2 safeties. I think Ioane is the (BW). Leaves one safety/nickel, and we got JUCO transfer who looks hot. Douglas may be our man at CB. Overall, I’d say we’re about as good as you ever are (last year losing only 2 starters aint happenin’ ‘gin for a while).
WRs-I don’t remember us losing this much talent all at once. In ‘07, we had Childs, who showed more promise than any of our current returners have (New Mexico State game for example). Legitimate concern no doubt. But I’d rather have my Heisman candidate QB back with new WRs than vice versa. Shoe looked good; Kirby back: Efaw will make plays. I’ve been watching Broncos since ‘68, and I’ve never seen a problem fielding good to excellent WRs.

S'pose losing WR coach and 2 starting WRs could be considered problem if Coach Pete werent' a WR/QB himself
plus still (?) having Harsin.

Dont forget Matt Miller and Kirbo!

If there is one team that can knock off Boise St it wont be TCU or UGA.
Look out for San Diego St, they will dangerous next season.

They'll still have Hillman and Lindley
Both are very good, and SDSU should be the Bronco’s toughest test next season.

SDSU really impresses me
I think they have a good coach who trots out quality gameplans and gets the most out of his personnel…much like Pete. Not saying he’s as good but am saying they are in the same mold and that makes SDSU a threat.

TCU loses so much more then us.
I saw this too and didn’t think it made much sense.

maybe he doesn't think much of BSU's chances in Fort Worth
as opposed to on the Blue.

darn
i had written more, but got cut off somehow. this is what else i had there:
I am aware that BSU was to replace Utah on the schedule, but when BYU bailed, i figured that they would just adjust other it elsewhere.
wonder what happened.

No kidding.
It’s too bad they made the schedule before TCU bailed. Otherwise, it would have been very beneficial to have TCU on the Blue, as far as exposure and attendance figures go.

what's annoying to me
is they always say he’s from caldwell. i’m not from marsing (homedale actually) but if there was a major dude from my hometown i’d be irritated that they couldn’t get his hometown right.

Staples Does Realize TCU is Losing Something Like 15 Starters, Right?
Not to mention some other key contributors. I honestly think we will be a pretty big favorite in that game.
The biggest thing that will keep us out of the BCS title game next year is pre season ranking and the BCS/NCAA itself.
