Class of 2011 Recruit Roundup

The senior seasons of next year's Broncos are nearly finished, and with the playoffs beginning soon, we may have already seen the last of a few of them. So after the jump, we'll drop in on a few of the Bronco verbals (non-binding till February, yadda-yadda).

Stud Frisco Liberty (TX) RB commit Jay Ajayi did not play in Friday night's win over Frisco due to a sprained ankle. Fortunately, Ajayi's squad barely missed a beat without their offensive leader and still rolled to a 35-7 win to complete a perfect regular season. Ajayi vowed to return for the playoffs. As a reminder... Ajayi has 1,638 rushing yards and 28 TDs on the season.

Rocklin High School (CA) QB commit Jimmy Laughrea led his squad to a victory over Nevada Union in their final game of the regular season on Friday night by tossing 3 TD passes and completing 15 of 26 throws for 201 yards. Laughrea also had a 9 yard TD run in the win and finished the regular season with 2,367 yards passing, 21 TDs and 8 interceptions. Laughrea also ran for another 268 yards and 6 scores on the season. Rocklin is seeded 10th in the Division II playoff bracket.

Whittier Christian (CA) DT commit Jeff Worthy had 9 tackles in Friday night's win over Village Christian. Worthy has 33 tackles on the year.

Boise State's newest commit, DB Darian Thompson of Paraclete High School (CA), was in action on Friday night and hauled in 3 passes for 29 yards and contributed 2 INTs on defense as his squad defeated Sierra Canyon 22-12. On offense, Thompson has 620 yards receiving and 11 TDs on the year and has racked up 41 tackles and 6 interceptions as well for the 6-1 Spirits.

Local WR commit Dallas Burroughs of Rocky Mountain High School led his team to victory over Eagle on Friday evening. Burroughs caught 15 passes for 245 yards and 4 TDs and added another TD on a 47-yard run.

The other local Bronco commit at nickel, Capital's Corey Bell, scored twice in a 40-0 shutout over Vallivue in Friday's state quarterfinal game. Capital is still undefeated on the year at 10-0 and will play Couer d'Alene next weekend in the semis.
