Boise State stays at No. 2 in polls, No. 3 in BCS standings

Auburn's on the move in the polls, but it wasn't enough to get past Boise State this week. The Broncos hang on at No. 2 in both the AP and USA Today polls (11 and 5 first place votes, respectively), just in front of Auburn and still behind Oregon. You can find full Top 25s after the jump as well as a bit of analysis.

The BCS standings came out this evening, and Boise State stayed exactly where it was last week. Boise State is at No. 3, joined by Auburn and Oregon at No. 1 and No. 2 and TCU and Michigan State at No. 4 and No. 5.

Update: Complete computer standings after the jump.

Bye week is a tougher opponent than New Mexico State

So Boise State beats a team by 59 points (NMSU) and falls in the poll. They don't play anyone and they stay where they are. Transitive property: WAC games are easier than bye weeks.

Rumors of TCU passing BSU in BCS are thankfully just rumors

The Horned Frogs beat Air Force on Saturday, and Boise State did nothing on Saturday. As such, many experts thought that TCU might slip in front of the Broncos in this week's standings.

As it is, the Broncos barely held the edge on TCU this week, staying ahead by a .8846 to .8833 margin. Whatever that means!

Expect this all to change next week.
