Boise State up to No. 2 in Coaches and AP, debuts at No. 3 in first BCS standings

If you've just come out of your San-Jose-State-football-induced nap, I have good news for you: You're a fan of the No. 2 football team in the country.

Boise State earned its highest ranking in school history as the No. 2 team in both the AP poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll. Thanks, overrated Ohio State. Also, the first BCS standings are out and the Broncos are No. 3 in those, behind Oklahoma and Oregon.

How do you feel about the Broncos' No. 2 ranking? What do you expect to happen with the BCS standings? Polls and more after the jump.

OBNUG reader ShrewdOne is keeping tabs on all the computer rankings from this week over in a FanShot.

Coach Pete doesn't mean to throw water on this, but actually yes he does

I need not remind you that Coach Pete (and by extension many Broncon fans) finds no real importance in these rankings until they are final in December.

BCS expert Brad Edwards's prediction

Edwards has Oklahoma No. 1 and Boise State No. 3. Edwards also probably has a Microsoft Excel fetish because you have to have some serious formula jones to have any idea what's going on.
