The atomic clock actually says that we have just 82 days until the Ducks hit the blue turf (hard).
So, today we'll continue our countdown by briefly highlighting the Bronco player with the jersey number that corresponds with the number of days remaining till the opener. Sorry there isn't a more clear and concise way to explain that.
Today, I'm going to have to do something a little bit different. You see, Boise State does not have every number from 1 to 99 assigned as of yet...so today (and all other days where this occurs) I will highlight a walk-on or new addition to the team that could have the number that we've currently landed on. If that made any sense to you at all, we'll move right along.
#82 Justin Jungblut, DT
The state of Arizona played host to one of the greatest moments in Bronco football history. Now, Arizona may help prolong the glory of Boise State as it has become a fertile recruiting ground of late. The Broncos currently have 7 Arizona products on the roster headlined by team captain Richie Brockel, and the newest additions look like they may have the biggest upside.
Justin Jungblut is a 6'5" 250 lb. DT out of Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, AZ. He was a high school teammate of redshirt Offensive Guard Joe Kellogg and looks poised to be a great addition to the Bronco D-line, but with the current depth at the position, I'd be surprised if it were in 2009. A four year letter winner at Saguaro, Jungblut reined in All-Conference and All-State honors as a senior and helped lead his team to its 3rd straight state championship. 2008 saw him record 72 tackles, 12 sacks and a safety. "Jungblut" is German for "youngblood" and the current D-line definitely lives up to that name. With quality (and big) recruits and experienced underclassmen, the D-line should be a strength for the Broncos for years to come.
