Matt Miller
6’4" 215 in High School!? Yes, PLEASE! Sounds like this kid may one day be a standout WR for Boise State. Great signing by our excellent staff!

It's reported that
he also runs a 4.55 40. That’s pretty nice from a 6’4" reciever, but will likely get faster in the next few years. This was a big pick-up.

I’ve heard he may be the best prospect to come out of Montana in years, although I’m not sure what that really means.

Montana
some one from Idaho turning his nose up on a recruit from Montana?? That’s pretty rich….
Montana is generally one of the top five FCS teams (and crushed Boise state by about 60 points the last year of the Poke Allen era….which was, I think, the last year Boise was in the Big Sky Conference).
You may also have heard of guys like Ryan Leaf (formerly Chargers) and Dan Carpenter (currently Dolphins) from Montana. There are a number of others like Jason Crebo and Dave Dickensen who also were Player of the Year in Montana but I don’t expect you’d know who they were though they played professional football.

excellent job of recruiting by our coaches!
if Miller really was getting recruited by North Carolina and Arkansas, and we got him… man, that’s awesome! and if he really can work his way into the rotation next year… i’d love to see Pettis/Young/Miller as the starting 3. WOW!
AHHH!!! i’m getting all excited now….
Thank you, Nick Adenhart. You will always be remembered. #34

Matt Miller, Malcolm Johnson, Grant Hedrick, i believe all of those players were state players of the year in their respected states. Anybody who says we don’t have that good of recruits compared to BIG schools is full of it. We’re eating up the best of the best from all over this region.

Top Players
Hedrick is not Oregon’s player of the year….Jordan Johnson is. Malcolm Johnson is also an Oregon player….Jack Lomax was player of the year that year.

I'd be surprised..
to see the starting 3 be Pettis, Young, & Miller. Shoemaker and Kirby Moore have shown bright spots this year and will likely improve quite a bit in through the off-season with a season of experience under their belt. However, both have had some injury issues so nothing is set in stone.
Also, cant forget to mention we will still have Burroughs, Potter, Hiwat, & Burks who will all have experience in the system (and some playing time in the case of Potter & Burroughs).
Did the article mention if he was going to enroll early? If that’s the case, I think it would increase his chances of not having to redshirt.

I didn’t see anything about early enrollment. He’d be wise to do so. I think I read that Grant Hedrick will not be enrolling early.
Funny how WR depth is of slight concern right now for the Fiesta. Sure won’t be in a year or two.

Look What Santa Brought Us!
I didn’t expect Miller to choose the Broncos, so I am just all giddy with the news that he’s coming to Boise. This is huge! When you throw Miller into the mix, with the WRs Boise State already has waiting in the wings, then take a look at the young QBs on the roster, plus the RBs, it is easy to imagine a very potent offense for years to come.
There are still a couple more offers on the table for CB and DE, and I know that about wraps up the recruiting for this year, but I really hope the coaches go after some big talented linemen next year. There is so much talent in the skill positions, now, but recruiting for the O-line seems to come down to walk-ons and less sought after players, with Leno being the exception. Put a big aggressive line in front of all that talent and Boise State would be unstoppable.

Do you think that quality o-linemen are the toughest ones to recruit by non-BCS schools? I’m with you, TitoRay. I’d take a three-star OL over a three-star WR any day.
