NUGie True Freshman of the Year

Presented by a deejay from Boise's Magic 93.1:

Holla! You've tuned into the No. 1 award show in the biz-nass. It's the NUGies, cominatcha from the Intranizzle. Word.

True Freshdawg of the Year rewards those fly jocks with mad skillz who bring it like it hasn't never been broughten before. Much respect. Here are the cats for NUGie True Freshman of the Year:

  • George Iloka. Started at safety since the Oregon game and was solid in all aspects of the game except for tackling LeGarrette Blount a few times.

  • Jamar Taylor. Contributed in the secondary throughout the season in nickel and dime packages.

  • Byron Hout. Rotated in at midseason at defensive end, leading to the Broncos' best P-Bowl highlight on his pick-almost-six.

  • Michael Atkinson. Scout teamer took home scout team honors and quickly earned hype on the scale of Doug Martin last year. Also, Canadian.

And the NUGie True Freshman of the Year award goes to ...

Congratulations to George Iloka. His longer stay on the defense made the difference in a close competition between him and Byron Hout. On a related note, the True Freshman NUGie for next year already had Kirby Moore's name on it.
