Happy homecoming, Aggie alumni!
The Broncos dominated NMSU in every aspect of the game in a 49-0 win that was surprisingly not as close as the seven-TD margin seemed. The Bronco defense completely shut down Chase Holbrook and Chris Williams, and the Bronco offense chewed up yards on the ground and through the air. Which begs the question: is New Mexico State the new Idaho?
We'll provide much more commentary and perspective on Monday, but in the meantime, here are some quick thoughts and some game stats. You got to love the lower tier of the WAC.
Ian Johnson and Jeremy Avery look pretty great when there are holes to run through ... the Aggies leading the country in pass defense might be the most misleading statistic ever ... the Air Raid offense looked about as good as it always does ... could Chris Williams have had less of an impact? We think not ... Jeremy Childs was obviously the best receiver on the field ... Kyle Efaw was probably the best tight end ... the Bronco defensive line was all over Chase Holbrook ... that Byron Hout kid is pretty good already ... offsides on kickoffs are the new holding penalty ... the Boise State offensive line would probably like to play the NMSU defensive line every week if that was at all possible ... 15,000 people in attendance is an awfully generous figure ...
