Backup quarterbacks keep flocking to Boise State

The Broncos have officially added their second quarterback to the 2009 recruiting class with the verbal commitment of North Gwinnett High (Georgia) QB Michael Tamburo. The opportunity to sit at the feet of Kellen Moore superseded Tamburo's desire for playing time. That, and Boise State sounds like fun.

"Their coaches said they ski and snowboard a lot as a team."

Just wait until he experiences Dairy Queen Night.

The 6'1", 190-pound lefty QB is cut from the same mold as Jared Zabransky - as a player, not a person. At least, we don't think he has any "T" tattoos visible on his bicep.

He is strictly a touch and timing passer and is at his best in the short and intermediate passing game based on rhythm and timing. As a runner, he is quick and deceptive with good change-of-direction skills and toughness. Can run and create some plays when protection breaks down.

Here's video proof:

Tamburo and Joe Southwick, the other QB commit in the 2009 class, are the first Bronco quarterback recruits since Kellen Moore. And we all know how that one turned out.
