No one seemed to have any answers after the Broncos' game on Saturday as to why the offense bogged down so suddenly in the second half. Coach Pete didn't know, Kellen Moore didn't know, Mark Johnson certainly didn't know.
Maybe Vinny Perretta can shed some light on things. The Bronco senior is dabbling in blogging this season, pulling a rare double dip in being a Bronco blogger as well as a Bronco player. Dustin Lapray is SO jealous.
So we went to Vinny's blog to see what was up, and sure enough, VP had a post up about the game. The only problem was that it didn't really address the offense's woes. Oh well. Guess we'll just have to read between the lines.
Bowling Green came into our house and played a strong football game against us.
Unlike so many WAC teams.
Our offense had a very good first half. We had only three possessions and scored a touchdown on each of those drives.
"I'd be more specific, but none of the scores involved me."
In the second half, our defense saved the day. They came up with two huge turnovers that ultimately sealed the game for us.
Perretta had been waiting a very long time to write those sentences.
Although we feel that we could have played better, we are very happy to come away with a "W" as well as a 2-0 record to start the season.
This is how Perretta was told to spin things.
Our hats go off to Bowling Green for playing a good game. If they keep playing the way that they have been, they are going to have a successful season.
In the MAC.
Next week, we travel to Eugene, Oregon, to take on the Oregon Ducks. It is going to be a good challenge for us and we are excited for next Saturday. I hope you guys are as well. Until then, Go Broncos!
Fine. We'll move on.
