Wake up, Bronco Nation: Boise State football links and things, 5-22-12
Mark Coyle and Craig Thompson issue contradictory statements on Boise State and the MWC
So AD Mark Coyle is down in Florida for the Big East meetings this week and could not duck the media. When asked about any discussions between Boise State and the MWC, Coyle responded with a simple "no". Well Craig Thompson then decided to refute that by saying that Boise State and the MWC did in fact have conversations and that Boise State has not officially withdrawn from the MWC yet. Oh boy. At least everyone can agree that Boise State still intends to join the Big East so nothing to see here.
Titus Young told to not show up for voluntary OTA's
Young had apparently gotten into a fight with Louis Delmas during a voluntary practice last week and then sucker punched him when he wasn't looking. Not good at all. Hopefully Titus can turn his attitude around.
Kevan sits down (figuratively) with blog Big West Confidential to answer some questions
The blog is run by our very own greekpadre. Kevan only makes one misstep in his answers and that's placing Chick-Fil-A below Dairy Queen. The Blizzard reigns supreme, but I have to say that the depth and quality of Chick-Fil-A's menu out weighs Dairy Queen's on the whole. Yeah, I said it.
Birthdays!
Happy birthday to readers lifelongbronco and toywrecker! So, what did you two get for your birthdays?
Intrepid Bronco fans occupy Occupy
Foreground: Boise State occupiers, Background: Riot squad itching to pepper spray them.
No, that headline's not a typo. OBNUG member gdigital, who as far as I can tell enjoys lurker status almost exclusively—sent me a few pics yesterday with the following explanation: "Some buddies and I are living in Chicago for the summer and decided to march with the NATO/occupy people representing Boise." Hey, the "movement" is all-inclusive, right? And who better understands the plight of the underdog better than Boise State fans? Sure, the guys seem to be having a bit of a laugh, but gdigital claims that the unwashed masses were all united in their support of Boise State—routinely telling the crew "Oh, I love Boise State", which I can only assume was followed by "which way to the drum circle?"
More pics after the jump

Can Boise State get to 10 wins in 2012? A game-by-game analysis
Bill Connelly's Boise State preview hinted that the best case scenario for the Broncos would be double-digit wins - a thought that simultaneously jives with my feelings on the 2012 Broncos and horrifies me because 10-win seasons are as easy as breathing around these parts. Could the Broncos really struggle to crack the double-digit threshold?
Let's examine the schedule:
Certain wins: vs. Miami (OH), @ New Mexico, vs. Fresno State, vs. UNLV, @ Wyoming, vs. Colorado State. While the possibility exists that the Broncos could trip up against any team at any time, let's be real, you guys. The Broncos aren't going to lose to these teams. Pencil in six wins and bowl eligibility with your most permanent of pencils.

Boise State fans should adopt the 2011 TCU model as their benchmark this season: ignore September results and hope that your squad catches fire later on ... and if the Broncos were to finish with double-digit wins again, that would have to be considered a rousing success all things considered.

Big East meetings kick off today in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida
They sure have a lot on their plate. Friday afternoon news came out that Boise State will indeed move to the Big East. Boise State had wanted to make the final decision before the meetings since Mark Coyle is attending. I don't think he likes those awkward situations.
Gene Bleymaier to interview for San Jose State AD position
He would be a great hire for San Jose State. Hopefully it works out for the both of them.
What the "Champions" bowl could mean for the rest of college football
It's a tad doomsdayish, but an interesting take. And the "Champions Bowl" is the most smarmy name ever.
Happy Birthday
Happy birthday to former player and current Minnesota Viking Chase Baker. Good luck up north!
2013 Bronco commit Joey Martarano powers Fruitland to yet another title
"Next year, we should be tough in every sport," said the kid who won 3 state championships this year. Wow.
Congratulations to Pat Forde who earned the title of Bronco Nation's People's Champion for the second year in a row. He is the Mark May of people we like.
Thanks to everyone for voting, and thanks to Pat Forde for driving that crowded Boise State bus. Hope you like East Coast road trips.
