Know your enemy: New Mexico State edition

KYE NMSU

This Saturday at Bronco Stadium, the New Mexico State Aggies will continue their three year trek towards the endzone (the Aggies haven't scored a single point on the Broncos since 2006). Will they finally get on the board? God only knows...but now that Hal Mumme's been jettisoned, they have a fighting chance. You want real intrigue? Okay...it's Senior Day and the final game of the regular season. The Aggies don't stand a chance, but that doesn't mean you can't come out and bid a fond farewell to the world's smallest graduating class. In preparation, let's learn a bit about this week's foe through the magic of factoids and childish jokes (don't worry, Kellen Moore already knows their defense intimately). It's time to get to know your enemy, Bronco Nation...so take notes.

Know your enemy: Nevada edition

KYE UNR

Black Friday will bring great Christmas shopping opportunities by day, but by nightfall, Chris Ault and his minions will have descended on Bronco Stadium to see if they can ruin a perfectly good turkey hangover. The Nevada Wolf Pack is 7-0 in conference play and has won 8 straight since their disastrous start. The Broncos are undefeated on the year and only need to knock off Colin Kaepernick and the vaunted(?) Pistol offense and another WAC title is assured. I don't think I need to tell you that Friday's matchup is big...real big. The Wolf Pack haven't beaten the Broncos since 1998, but they've been too close for comfort of late. They'd love nothing more than to clinch a WAC title on Boise State's home turf (and knock off a top ten team while they're at it). Needless to say, there is a lot to be worried about on Friday night, but there is also a lot to be learned about this week's foe (don't worry, Kellen Moore already knows their defense intimately). Hey, I know...let's explore the Wolf Pack through the magic of factoids and childish jokes. It's time to get to know your enemy, Bronco Nation...so take notes.

Know your enemy: Utah State edition

KYE USU

The Broncos (and likely thousands of Bronco fans) will visit the way too friendly confines of Romney Stadium tomorrow evening in Logan, Utah to take on the Utah State Aggies. The Aggies, by all accounts, are a much improved team this year...but unfortunately their record doesn't show it. They notched their 3rd win of the year last weekend against a down-and-out San José State squad and do bring some firepower to the field in the form of slippery QB Diondre Borel and 1,000-yard rusher Robert Turbin—but alas, it probably won't be enough for the Aggies to get off the schneid after 8 straight losses to Boise State. Sure, there may be more reason to watch the game this year, but the results should be as predictable as an Austin Pettis 3rd down catch. Needless to say, there is a lot to be learned about this week's foe (don't worry, Kellen Moore already knows their defense intimately). Hey, I know...let's explore the Aggies through the magic of factoids and childish jokes. It's time to get to know your enemy, Bronco Nation...so take notes.

Know your enemy: Idaho edition

KYE Vandals

The suddenly relevant Vandal football team and their "fans" will sweep into the Valley this weekend to take on our Boise State Broncos. Beside causing a massive shortage of Pabst Blue Ribbon, the Vandals are hoping to get back on the winning side of the rivalry after a solid decade in the gutter. Bronco fans know that we're just two tantalizing wins away from erasing the only bragging point that the Vandals have left and the Vandals know they can at least still drink afterwards. Robb Akey has done his level best to bring the spark back to the rivalry while Coach Pete gives them the same Lou Holtzing that he gives most any team. Let's be honest, the Vandals have more reason for optimism this year than they've since the 90s (notice I said "optimism", not "confidence") and there is a lot to be learned about this week's foe (don't worry, Kellen Moore already knows their defense intimately). Hey, I know...let's explore the Dirtbags Vandals through the magic of factoids and childish jokes. It's time to get to know your enemy, Bronco Nation...so take notes

Know your enemy: Louisiana Tech edition

KYE La Tech

Boise State will make the long trek to Ruston, Louisiana to take on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs tomorrow night and hope that they won't succumb to the malaise and general blahness that usually attends teams that play in Ruston. The Broncos seem to have hit their stride after another dominating win on Saturday against San José State, but the Bulldogs are searching for answers after a 4th quarter choke job against Idaho. The Bulldogs are undefeated at home this year and usually play the Broncos much better in their own climes, so something's gotta give tomorrow evening. Many in Broncoland know little of Louisiana Tech beyond their swampy, sleepy stadium so needless to say, there is a lot to be learned about this week's foe (don't worry, Kellen Moore already knows their defense intimately). Hey, I know...let's explore the Bulldogs through the magic of factoids and childish jokes. It's time to get to know your enemy, Bronco Nation...so take notes

Know your enemy: San José State edition

KYE SJSU

Boise State hopes to host a Halloween House of Horrors for San José State (political correctness dictates that I must put that little swash above the 'e') this Saturday at Bronco Stadium. The Broncos are coming off a defense-led, crappy-snap-filled beatdown of Hawaii and the Spartans are coming off bye week (equally taxing, no doubt). Most fans, like me, know little about San José State outside of Jeff "Ginger" Garcia and some recent inexplicably-close games there. Needless to say, there is a lot to be learned about this week's foe (don't worry, Kellen Moore already knows their defense intimately)...so let's explore through the magic of factoids and childish jokes. It's time to get to know your enemy, Bronco Nation...so take notes

Know your enemy: Hawaii edition

KYE UH

The Broncos are coming off a dominant-everywhere-but-the-scoreboard win over Tulsa, and Hawaii is licking its wounds from a demoralizing loss to Idaho. Both teams need a win, but only one will get it (hint: it won't be Hawaii). The Broncos have enjoyed a colorful past with the Warriors and always seem to have the quirkiest of games within the litter-filled confines of Aloha Stadium. Will Saturday's game keep our attention past midnight or will McMackin's Warriors get lei'd out early? We'll know the answers to these pressing questions at 9 PM on Saturday, but in the meantime, there's a lot to be learned about this week's foe (don't worry, Kellen Moore already knows their defense intimately)...so let's all give the Rainbow Warriors a closer look through the magic of factoids and childish jokes. It's time to get to know your enemy, Bronco Nation...so take notes

Know your enemy: Tulsa edition

KYE TU

The Broncos face a difficult (or is it?) road test tomorrow night against Tulsa under the bright lights of ESPN. Boise State is coming off a quasi-bye week and a lackluster performance against UC Davis—We'll call Tulsa's 27-10 win over Rice lackluster as well since Rice is 0-5 and Navy hung 60+ on them. Tulsa is known to sling it and Boise State will do well to reconnect with their week 1 defense. The last time Boise State and Tulsa met, in 2004,  both teams were in the WAC and it took a last second field goal to seal the win for the good guys (us). Tulsa has only improved since 2004...fortunately, so have the Broncos. Needless to say, there is a lot to be learned about this week's foe (don't worry, Kellen Moore already knows their defense intimately)...so let's all give the Golden Hurricane a closer look through the magic of factoids and childish jokes. It's time to get to know your enemy, Bronco Nation...so take notes.
