Public Enemy #1
What would a football program be without a mortal enemy? Well, actually, it would probably be a lot like Utah State.
We have no desire to be like USU, which is why we created the Public Enemy #1 contest for our website. Nominees for the award had to embody all that was in opposition to Bronco football, and there were more than enough liars, weasels, rivals, and villains to fit the bill.

It just so happened that Dan Hawkins was all those things. Our first Public Enemy #1 is the former Bronco coach who stole away to Colorado under the guise of empty promises and big wads of money. Those empty promises are what sealed the deal for him. He made it clear in no uncertain terms that he would be staying with the Broncos, yet at the first moment of weakness, he took the money and ran. Now he’s Judasing it up in Boulder with his quarterback son (who would have gone to BSU, mind you), his Big XII program, and enough money to buy up the entire Colorado intramural program and shut it down just for fun.
For the next several months, we will make it our personal vendetta to point out all of Hawkins’ flaws and shortcomings. He deserves nothing better. Read along with his magical journey to not mattering as much as before with our handy Hawkins reader.
