Perception is reality and the national perception right now is that the MWC is a much better conference than the WAC. We'll see how that holds up next year.

I don't think the Pac 10 (or the Big 10 for that matter) want a championship game. Not sure why though.

You should just become a Boise State fan. We win, we have awesome fans, and we have the coolest blog in the nation. Who wants to continually read that the sky is falling a mgoblog? Not me

Yeah, who knows how realisitic it is for the MWC to become a BCS conference really? Although, I do think it's more realistic then the PAC 10 inviting Boise State in the near future.

To me the MWC is a step up, maybe not a huge step, but a step nonetheless. You can compare the top teams in the WAC to the top teams in the MWC most seasons, but top to bottom the MWC is usually a bit better. Utah State, Idaho, and NMSU are all regulars in the bottom 10 teams in the country. At least the MWC doesn't have teams where they are in the bottom 10 every single year. It's a given with Utah State and Idaho.

Don't get me wrong, the MWC has their share of bad teams, but not Utah State, Idaho, and NMSU bad. At least the bad MWC teams can pull themselves into mediocrity.

BCS conference status is probably the only thing that would cause a big shakeup, and the new conference (MWC or otherwise) would take the best of the WAC, MWC, and even C-USA. there's no reason to say the MWC sucks, there's no reason to join them, etc. because it would be quite a different conference after the shakeup anyways.

RE: Patrick
... and UNLV, and TCU, and air force, Hawaii has a bright future, maybe a good team or two from C-USA, I like Southern Methodist and Tulsa
don't forget to factor in the effect an automatic BCS bid will have on these team's recruiting. they will be better than they are now. BSU would not win this conference all that often
