After 34 wonderful and wonderfully tedious bowl games, the winner of OBNUG’s first annual Bowl Pick ‘Em contest is none other than Mr. Slim Pickings himself, OBNUG’s Nick. Take a bow, friend.
There were better records than my 20-14 mark. Our own OBNUG Intern managed a remarkable 25-9. Drew of Fight Fight BSU had a 22-12 [...]

Sources say that Boise State junior wide receiver Jeremy Childs might go the way of Ryan Clady and Orlando Scandrick and declare for the NFL Draft.
Boise TV station KBCI Channel 2 was the first to break the news, and there has been no other confirmation yet other than this slight nausea we’ve been feeling all morning. Childs has until January 15 to decide, and he is expected to wait at least until he hears back from the NFL advisory committee. Currently, they are hard at work figuring out how to break the news to Tom Brandstater.
Read on after the jump for more, including what Childs said about the pros a couple months ago. We wish him the best of luck if it’s true.

The right to be the much-disputed national champion is on the line tonight when Oklahoma and Florida square off in the BCS title game. Hope you’re not watching with a Utah fan.
We created a little championship game diversion for you after the jump, so knock yourself out with that. Also capable of knocking yourself out: the insane number of school band shots by the FOX broadcast. Good grief, we’ll be seeing flautists in our sleep.
Have fun with the last vestige of real college football until August. We might be around the comments tonight if you want to say hi. Either that, or we’ll be consoling a Utah fan.

The New Mexico State Aggies have decided to pay former head coach Hal Mumme over half a million dollars to stop coaching at New Mexico State. On a related note, they gave QB Chase Holbrook a Nintendo DS to not pursue a sixth year of eligibility.
