2017 quarterback Chase Cord committed to the Broncos just moments ago. Chase has a solid offer list, including Iowa State, Oregon State, Colorado and Utah as well as Columbia, Harvard and Princeton. While those last 3 aren't football powerhouses, if you can get a scholarship to one of them, you're a pretty smart fella.

Out of Sunrise Mountain HS in Peoria, AZ, Chase is listed at 6'3" and 185 lbs. That, of course, varies by site, but that was listed on a couple. He's listed as a 3-star recruit on the major recruiting sites, including Rivals and Scout.
His junior campaign was pretty insane: 169-237 (71.3%) for 3,173 yards (18.8 yards per completion and 264.4 yards per game) AND 52 TDs against 6 INTs (8.7:1 TD to INT ratio). On top of that, he also had 109 carries for 1,059 yards (9.7 ypc) for another 13 TDs. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Oh, and did I mention he has a 4.53 40 time? Yeah, well he has a 4.53 40 time. Don't believe me? Just watch his tape.
He's got arm for days and legs plenty dangerous to go the distance, not to mention keep would be tacklers at bay. He's coming in at a great time as well. With Rypien coming into his sophomore season, Cord can do his thing for his senior year. Once he gets on campus, I would anticipate a red shirt season for him simply because Ryp will be a junior. Then, he'll have a full year of tutelage and mentorship on the field with plenty of time to take the reigns after Brett graduates.
Welcome to Bronco Nation Chase! GO BRONCOS!!
