B.D.Bronco's Blue and Orange dilemma

One of the reasons that B.D.Bronco is a fan of Boise State University athletics is because the Broncos' colors are Blue and Orange. The Denver Broncos that is. As a little sports fan B.D. grew up a Denver Broncos fan for some reason, despite growing up in Southern California. As he got older B.D.Bronco resorted to a completely democratic and fairly unbiased methodology to choose his sports teams. Rather than simply root for the local "home" team, B.D. choose instead to root for Blue and Orange, I mean God did make sunsets Blue and Orange for a reason, right? There must have some divine preference for these colors. So with this criteria in hand B.D. set out to choose his sports teams and settled on the New York Mets, New York Islanders, and New York Knicks in addition to his beloved Denver Broncos, but he never really had a college team to root until a little known school from southern Idaho embarrassed powerhouse Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl. Who was this beautiful Cinderella that not only bore the divine colors of his beloved professional football team, but their moniker as well? Thus enter his devotion to the little school from Boise, Idaho. Now all was right with the world. Or was it? Because B.D.Broncos favorite sports are football, baseball, and soccer, in that order. Basketball is fourth and hockey is a very distant fifth. Therein lies the problem. There are no professional soccer clubs which sport Blue and Orange, and thus B.D. has no soccer club to root for. This problem was nearly remedied when it was announced that FC Barcelona was planning to put a MLS franchise in Miami a few years back. Club colors were announced as Blue and Orange and photos were released depicting the kits as consisting of vertical Blue and Orange stripes. But alas those plans fell through and thus lovers of the Blue and the Orange continue to be denied a professional soccer club for which to root. With all this said B.D. asks his fellows Nuggies, how did you choose the Broncos, if you weren't Boise native or BSU alum? How did you choose your pro teams, if you have them? What crazy, perfectly scientific method did you employ?
