Fantastic football story

I can't recommend the Radiolab podcast, on the history of American football, highly enough.

OK, I love Radiolab and pretty much everything they do. But this piece offers a deep and philosophical look at the history of the game, in ways that shed light on the history of America as a whole.

And as they talk about the way that Pop Warner, coaching at the Carlisle Indian school, used innovation and trickeration to defeat the big boys of the time (Harvard, Yale, U of Chicago, early in the 20th century), I could not help but think of our own Broncos as the heirs of that great tradition of proud underdogs.

An hour of listening and learning.
