15-20 (9-10) Liberty just won the Big South Tournament Championship and the conference's automatic NCAA Tournament spot. The Flames were 12-20 (6-10) before the tournament. I don't understand the point. Why isn't the regular season enough? I mean every school in the conference, regardless of record gets a seed in the tournament. The WM has nine this year, while the Big East has sixteen. Why do they all get a second chance? Why isn't the regular conference record good enough? It's like a second mini regular season. It's exciting, don't get me wrong, but it seems counterproductive/repetitive. If they're going to have a tournament then why not just the top half of the conference?
