SDSU destroyed Buffalo in the Potato Bowl and Colorado State shocked Washington State late in the New Mexico Bowl. One might comment that the opponents weren't really that great but then again SDSU and CSU's records (both were 7-5) weren't the MWCs best either. Fresno State on the other hand ran into a buzzsaw with USC beating the crappola out of them in the Vegas Bowl 45-20. Then again the Fresno State Bulldogs have only won 4 bowl games in the last 20 years. One of the things that has bugged me since BSU joined the MWC was the terrible record against non-conference opponents. We need to get out of this mindset of just winning the conference and showing teams from other conferences that the MWC isn't going to give anyone an easy win. SDSU and CSU helped us out with that. Hopefully the Broncos can do the same, although I have serious doubts about this game given both the on-field and off-field issues this season. If they can pull off a win it will be a real testament to the guys on the team overcoming some of the worst adversity possible to finish out the season right.
