First of all, looking at the score is deceiving.
Coach Rice has these guys playing feisty and fighting til the end. If it wasn't for that this game would've been a lot worse than a 15 point loss. We were clearly not as athletic as UK and it showed.
Second off, we needed to capitalize on what little open looks we got, and to also capitalize on all the turnovers they forced UK to make which we didn't. That's a credit to UK's defense and athleticism.
We desperately need another post that can score points to open up the offense more. Watkins can hold his own but he has no help at all. Marks is probably the most frustrating player I have seen. I have watched him at all the home games the past three years and his decision making is terrible. Its either bad most of the time or all the time. Careless and needless fouls, he can be a black hole, and he's a turnover waiting to happen. If he wasn't so damn good and clutch at times on the offensive end people would notice that more but unfortunately some just see the box score or his late game heroics on the 10 o'clock news.
I mentioned in another post that they need to let Iggy drive the lane more and they did that. The result was 6 points, drawn fouls, good assists, and a couple boards. He can be a weapon for sure if they let him.
All in all Boise has a ways to go to recruit more athleticism. Granted they aren't facing a top recruited team like Kentucky every night. But I am very proud of Rice's squad. They hung tough and never let it get out of hand, just gotta make more open shots when the opportunity is presented and this game is different
