Had to change my screen name. Somehow couldn't log in with the old one. That's ok though, people had gotten me mixed up with being the mom to the current #86 - Kyle Sosnowski. I'm the mom to Rocky Atkinson, #86, TE, circa 2000-2002. (No relation to the Baconator of last year. He's an Atkinson too though.)
A little about my husband and me. He and I travel to the home games. We live in Vancouver, WA which is close to Portland, Oregon. It's like a little honeymoon...do the hotel thing, breakfast at Goldy's, maybe a hike at Camel's Back, and then the game. This last weekend we were happy to have Rocky join us for the game, which doesn't happen often since he lives in Phoenix.
Now for the apology, not sure if anything specific was set up regarding meeting up at the Ram. We had stopped by there around 11 to see if we could reserve a table. The person my husband talked to said come around 4:30 and there shouldn't be a problem getting a table for 10 people or so. We had others with our group not just those from OBNUG.
We arrive at 4:30, pay the $10 parking fee, and put our name on the list. The gal said that we couldn't be seated until EVERYONE in our group was there. We were not told this when we came earlier. By 6:00 everyone in our group shows up and we still are waiting and waiting...and... They never did get us a table. That place was a crazy zoo. We ended up having to go over to Qdoba for dinner. This really kinda stunk because some of the people in our immediate group were CLIENTS for my husband. Not that Qdoba's food was bad....it was good but not where you want to feed your clients.
We were also on a tight time-frame since we had a tour scheduled of the football facility. A big THANK YOU to Vicki for giving us a personal, up-close, walk thru.
Kind of a frustrating beginning. Then to walk out to the Ram's parking lot after the game was no better. One of our flags on the car window was broken off. Those are some stout plastic sticks. Must have been a pretty ticked off person. They almost broke our car window getting it off. Come on! I'll give ya the dang thing and the other one too. They took only one.
So with all that being said, if you showed up at the Ram to find no OBNUG-gaters with a table. (Or no OBNUGs period) I sincerely apologize! Hopefully, the next time we can meet up at a place that is not so chaotic.
