Alabama came into the contest as the No.2 ranked team in the country, and proved that Notre Dame really shouldn't have been there. How much more entertaining would it have been to watch Oregon vs 'Bama or even K-State vs 'Bama? Here's to a long college football-less eight months.

Craig Thompson in daily talks with San Diego State, not so much with BYU

The Mountain West stays in daily, fluid talk with the Aztecs of San Diego State. That doesn't appear to be the case with BYU, although we would like it to be. The league will most likely play with 11 or 12 members in 2013, says Thompson. On to the speculation!
