Proof that the yards stat needs to disappear

Stay connected for news and updates

I guess I might be alone on this one but to me this was the final straw. While having a look at the list of best bowl performers this season, and what do I find? Two Fresno State players on the list. Derek Carr had 361 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs made the list and Devonte Adams with 144 yards and catching the lone TD from Derek Carr made the list. Despite the impressive yard stat numbers, the fact remains that SMU made Fresno State look like a JUCO team in the bowl game and no Fresno State player belongs on the top bowl performers list after that game. I guess my point is that I find the yards stat so horribly overrated and wish people would quit using it. Either that or only count yards that contribute to scoring drives. Okay, I'm done ranting now.
