Hey guys, I got bored and started to look at Boise St.'s roster for next year and wrote a full length fanpost breaking that roster down by position group.
However, as I was writing each position group, I found that the topic I had picked had turned into more of a springboard to other thoughts concerning this program, how it's run, and what we might see from this team next year. As these thoughts expanded, I felt it might be better to simply make a video and record myself as I meandered through some of this stuff. The video started to get pretty lengthy though as I went through each position group and so I decided to break it up into multiple videos, one for each position group. My target time for each video is between 10 and 15 minutes, with nothing over 20 minutes. This makes it much easier for the listener to digest in their own busy lives imo. The video maintains the position groups and roster as a central theme, but switching communication method from writing to speaking, allows for related thoughts to be expressed without writing a novel.
I had a lot of fun doing this, and it forced me to think critically about our roster. Surprisingly, I still come up with glowing reports for each group it seems and that is probably a result of my fandom and belief in how this program is run and churns out talent. I'll be honest, I didn't pour a lot of research into this, I don't have the time for that. This is meant to be fun and to serve as a catalyst for our entire community during the offseason. If these videos result in a lot of comments and other people writing fanposts on ideas that came to them as a result of watching this series, then I will consider it a success. I'm not totally concerned with facts per se, I am more focused on ideas, general observations, and talking points for us to engage in so we can all learn more about this team as we march through the offseason.
As promised in the video...here is the link to the roster overview article I mentioned, by Kennedy47 and posted December 27, 2012. It is outstanding in its content and delivery and I encourage everyone to read it. It's well worth the time and effort.
