The Boise State football team has the weekend off to lick its wounds and hold its fantasy football drafts, leaving Bronco Nation without an obvious rooting interest on Saturday. This leaves you with a couple of options:
- See your family
- See your family with your peripheral vision while you watch football on TV
Football watching is never a wrong choice. If you find yourself glued to the ABC/ESPN this weekend, consider this your user's manual on finding a surrogate favorite team of the weekend.
Former Broncos in new places
The Boise State coaching ranks have become an incubator for BCS-conference coordinators and future head coaches, particularly in the last few offseasons when the Broncos' best and brightest have moved on up. If you can forgive them for leaving, these former Boise State coaches would love your dyed-in-the-wool affection this weekend.
- Brent Pease and No. 24 Florida @ Marcel Yates and Texas A&M
- Jeff Choate and Washington State vs. Eastern Washington
- Brian Harsin and No. 17 Texas vs. New Mexico
- Justin Wilcox and Washington @ No. 3 LSU
Blue and orange teams
Why not adopt a team that won't make you recolor your TV room? The Broncos are not the only blue-and-orange bunch in college football, as many well-intended Florida Gator gifts from my grandmother can attest. Root for one of these schools if you love all things blue and orange.
- Florida vs. Texas A&M
- Illinois @ Arizona State
- Syracuse vs. No. 2 USC
- UTEP @ Ole Miss
- Virginia vs. Penn State
- Auburn @ Mississippi State
Love shouting, "Go Broncos"? Why not shout it in the Midwest's general direction?
- Western Michigan vs. Eastern Illinois
Anyone who plays Idaho <--- Official OBNUG Adopted Team of the Week
Do you hate the Vandals? The correct answer is "yes, and how." My typical college football Saturday (or Friday or Thursday et al) involves rabidly cheering for the Broncos and rabidly wishing ill will and hilarious box scores on the Vandals. The latter does not have to change this weekend.

Go Falcons! Beat Vandals!
