The Statesmans sports writer gave the Bronco defensive performance a C-. On the radio callers are attacking new offensive coordinator Prince. Here on OBNUG, "fans" are calling for Southwick's head, or creating thread after thread about why we got beat and whose fault it was. Funny because when I finished watching that game I was swolen with pride. We had an absolutely stellar defensive performance, certainly not worthy of a C-. Our team fought tooth and nail both offensively and defensively for every yard, tackle, int., block you name it. Coach Lou called it perfectly at half time when he said that "Boise State is the better football team." He cited the fact that we swarmed to the ball, and instantly turned a defensive play into an offensive opportunity with all 11 players on the field finding a block for Ioane. Every one of our players hit hard, gave it their all on every down, and were great sportsmen. Im so confused about this negativity surrounding our team after this game. Im not sure if this is a result of spoiled fans run amock, or just pure ignorance. If a down year for Boise State is a team that fights to the bitter end on every play and shows great character, even in a losing effort, then I hope every year is a down year. At least then the fair weather fans will die off or turn their jackets inside out and sport their black and gold. As for me, I am done with all of it. No more statesman(though I must admit that I never would have paid a dime for that rag anyhow), no more ktik, no more channel 7, no more OBNUG. None of it. This University has allready sacraficed it's Olympic sports programs to the alter of football. Programs that were seeing huge gains in terms of success are now trapped in the big waste due to the greed of the football program and fans(Hows that non-BCS conference that's spread all over hell and back going to work for us by the way?). I am a season ticket holder and will always be planted on my feet in the South Endzone from start to finish. But I can no longer handle listening to this crying and piddling. Go Broncos. Some fans are still proud of your hard work and commitment to playing the game the right way. Had some good reads Kevan, and this is by no way a complete knock of your site.
