Let me first apologize for being negative on my first post. I have tried to give the benefit of the doubt to Coach Pete for over an hour now and cannot take it anymore...The truth is, Coach Pete and Prince should have to run laps in the next practice. I still have a huge man crush on the guy and recognize him as one of the top 3 coaches in the game if not the best. However, that was the worst play calling and coaching I can remember in the Coach Pete era; maybe even in the Hawkins era too. I know I know but seriously! I want to give BYU's defense credit but we still moved the ball. Correct me if I'm wrong, but we had the ball within their 30yrd line 5 times with no points? Three 4th and long plays within field goal range. I know our kicker missed one in the Miami of Ohio game and again tonight but is he "that" bad? Is he not better than Southwick in 4th and long in the red-zone? We wonder why our kickers are basket cases? And what about the fake punt in BSU territory? BYU showed no threat at the time to move the ball on us. Why hand it to them on the 20yrd line ish? Southwick looks like a wreck in the red-zone and is probably under achieving (sliding short again) but I really didn't think he looked that bad. 60% completion rate and NO INT's. I really think he's going to be fine. DJ looked great with what he had to work with but overall we struggled with the run all night long and then turned one dimensional in the second half. The bottom line is I think our defense is looking all-world and our offense is showing some potential. The thing that concerns me the most is our play calling. I think Prince is more the problem than Southwick. Southwick won't have confidence until he feels it from the coaches first. You could clearly tell they do not trust him. Let me know your thoughts and maybe help me off this cliff.
