The Idaho State Board of Education has voted 5-1 in favor of letting the University of Idaho begin scheduling and playing college football as an independent.
In related news, the board also voted unanimously to invest the University of Idaho's 2012 tuition payments in a, "unique business opportunity," offered to them by former Georgia football coach Jim Donnan.
Investment in Research In Motion's new Blackberry flip-phone line is also being strongly considered.
University president M. Duane Nellis could not be reached for direct comment however, after the board vote he was quoted as saying he had, "a real good feeling" about the new direction the university was taking.
