Why the Big East sucks less than the MWC

This is a comment that I had posted on one of the fan shots, but i felt like it provided good reason for joining the big east and would be a good topic for conversation

I'm not sure that the big east is a good move for Boise State

What I do know is that the Mountain West is a bad move. The big east, at the very least, has the potential to be good in many ways. The tv contract will be much better than the mwc. The exposure will be greater due to espn/nbc or whatever channel the big east contracts with plus we will be playing games on the east coast. There will be better recruiting in texas with the addition of houston and smu. We get to keep the great recruiting in the state of california since SDSU is apart of the conference. With UCF and USF in the conference, we can reach into the state of florida more than we ever have before. And when you compare the teams in the big east and mwc, it doesn’t look terribly different at first glance. The big east just added a bunch of non aqs from non bcs conferences. However, there is a big difference when you really think about it. UCF, USF, Louisville, Cincinatti, Houston, and SMU all have greater potential to become much better teams than any of those teams in the mountain west. Louisville and Cincinatti have proven it in the past. UCF and USF are teams in the state of florida where they can get big time recruits. The same goes for Houston, SMU, and SDSU being in the states of Texas and California. Right now, its looking like the Big East will be on the outside looking in. But conferences have their up and down trends. Right now the SEC is way up, and the Big East is way down. Boise State has to give this a shot if it wants to stay competitive in the future and get the money it needs to expand the university both athletically and academically. If Boise State does good and the big east gets better with time, Boise State may improve its facilities, academics, and reputation over time to where the big 12 and pac 12 eventually invite the broncos and BSU’s future would be secured
