Why the Big East is good for Boise State University football

I know this is an old story but worth the repost.

------------

Doubters continue to claim that Boise State football's move to the Big East is a bad idea, due mainly to the impending loss of the conference's AQ status. Many fans in Boise complain that will no longer be able to travel to away games. But i have to ask, 'how many actually ever really traveled?' Fans in Boise get six to eight home games every year. Boise State football has tens of thousands of fans across the country how never get a chance to see even one game. How many of them will now get the opportunity to watch their beloved Broncos play football in town near them. I think The Great One, Coach Pete, said it best:

“It’s going to help the Boise brand. We think in the big picture, in the long run, this is going to be a good move for us. We’re kind of that unique program anyway that we’ve got these unique pockets (of fans) all over the country and so now we’re going to take our team there. That’s something. I think the TV situation is going to be much different than we’re in now.”
