Wake up, Bronco Nation: Boise State football links and things, 2-1-12
National Signing Day is here, folks
Cripe has a nice rundown on all recruits. We'll have a post up shortly with all the information we can gather such as live video of Darien Bennett and Dylan Cozans making their decisions if we can find it.
NCAA grants DJ Harper sixth year of eligiblity
This is more of a formality, but good to get the official go ahead from the NCAA. Boise State was so confident in the ruling that Harper was held out of Senior Day festivities last fall. Harper will head up the depth chart with the most experience by far but Malcolm Johnson, Jay Ajayi, Drew Wright and possibly newcomer Jack Fields to back him up.
Schools try to crack down on social media recruiting
This looks like a rule that is bound to fail. After Arik Armstead committed to Oregon last week, Duck fans tweeted to him to welcome him and congratulate him. That is possibly a secondary violation. How long until opposing fans create fake twitter accounts to spoof a rival fan and improperly contact recruits?
Big 12 still hasn't released a 2012 schedule publicly yet
They have supposedly released a 10 team schedule to TV partners, but are still waiting to release it publicly. 10 teams would indicate that West Virginia is in fact on the schedule, however the Big East has not agreed on an early exit for West Virginia. Depending on how that court battle plays out, it could be an interesting 2013 schedule for Boise State if West Virginia, Syracuse and Pittsburgh are still in the Big East.

Tomorrow is Ground HOG Day
A famous Groundhog is driving this OBNUGGER to Breakfast or maybe to a scenic overlook at the gravel pit. Only six weeks remaining on my productive workload until Spring. Then I go on vacation until Superbowl 2013.

The only thing the BCS has to fear, is fear itself, and Blue is the color of fear.
Schools try to crack down on social media recruiting.
I remember last year a coach got in trouble because after a big win he got a text message from an unknown number that said congratulation to which he replied back thanks. Well it turned out to be a possible recruit and considered improper contact.
sounds like one where Richt from UGA got a secondary on.
he got a call from an unknown number but no voicemail. so he called it back and when the person on the other end said hello, he knew who it was, apologized for the call, and hung up. these things can be tricky.
i remember seeing the UW commit thiw week. i am very curious how many huskies did it as well. i’m just glad to know it’s everyone being ignorant about recruiting no-nos, not just me.
My QB has an AWARD named after him. How about yours?!
Moore’s effortless dissection of the defense in...practice reminded coaches why he’s here, despite his much-maligned measurables. --Chadd Cripe
