Broncos Host Texas Southern

Sunday November 11 at 2 P.M. Taco Bell Arena

Game on Tuesday (Nov 13) vs. Oakland and NEXT Sunday (Nov 18) vs. Louisiana Lafayette.

Boise State 13-16 (3-11)

It's kind of hard to do a pre-game analysis when the season hasn't really started yet. Hopefully the Broncos can start the season off on the right foot again this year, but be able to continue with that momentum into MWC play. Last season the Broncos started 8-1 and went on to finish 13-16. Boise State is returning almost 75% of their scoring from last season returning leading scorer Anthony Drmic (12ppg), who is now a sophomore. It will be interesting to see how the newcomers Vukasin Vujovic, Mikey Thompson, and Edmunds Dukulis perform. The Broncos will need a consistent presence down low this season, something that was lacking last year. Kenny Buckner and Ryan Watkins both had great games here and there, but they will need to more consistent if the Broncos want to be competitive in the MWC. Along with the down low presence, the Broncos must stay consistent as a whole. Last season Boise State was atrocious on the road and played much better at home. They have got to level out and play consistently, preferably well, at home and on the road. Shooting has got to be better as well. The Broncos started last season shooting incredibly well. Averaging almost 85ppg 9 games into the season. The rest of the season the Broncos never scored over 76pts finishing the season averaging 67ppg. Yes the competition picked up, in some cases, but not all.

Texas Southern 15-18 (12-6 SWAC)

The Tigers have pre-season SWAC Player of the Year Omar Strong (13ppg). Picked to finish 4th in the SWAC the tigers look to bounce back after a tough loss in the SWAC tournament championship game last season. Fred Studivant (9ppg) made the pre-season All-SWAC First Team.

Random Fact

Boise State will play SIX teams ranked in the preseason top 25.

I may add more stuff later. I wasn't in the mood to go all out on this one, plus, it's the season opener. There just isn't useful info out there. Just predictions, hopes, and dreams.
