Spencer Gerke filling in holes on the offensive line as needed
Gerke is the backup center but has also played left and right guard on consecutive snaps. Last year against Georgia, Spencer stepped up and filled in for an injured Joe Kellogg. Now he's cemented himself as an integral piece of the offensive line able to plug in wherever is needed. He seems to personify the offensive line mentality of Boise State. Spencer's dad is a regular here at OBNUG and I know he's proud of him as we all are!
Casey Pachall arrested on suspicion of DWI, suspended indefinitely
The TCU quarterback's latest off the field issue has finally landed himself with a suspension. Pachall had a positive drug test last February and Patterson declined to suspend him then. However, this latest incident has finally forced Patterson's hand. Hopefully Pachall can get the help he needs.
USC looked sloppy early, fumbling away 2 snaps in their first four. It was reminiscent of Boise State a couple of years ago. After they got that squared away, they went on to outscore Utah 38-7 en route to a 38-28 win.
