Tyler Horn latest to step up for defensive line
Horn started against UNLV in place of Demarcus Lawrence who was suspended for the game. He played really well getting a sack. Between Horn, Demarcus Lawrence, Sam Ukwuachu, and Kharyee Marshall the defensive end spots are in good shape this year.
Seventh "access" bowl now uncertain
The new "playoff" world of college football still has a lot of unknowns but what we do know is that the five "power" conferences have assured their conference champions a spot to play in one of six "access" bowls such as the Rose, Feista, Orange, Sugar, Cotton and Chick-Fil-A. A seventh bowl was thrown around for the Big East and other non "power" conferences. Well now we have a report saying that a seventh bowl is unlikely because there isn't enough money for it at only about $25 million. I've never seen grown men have so much trouble protecting their money planning a playoff. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Stewart Mandel isn't so optimistic about Boise State making a BCS game
He took a question from Patrick in Nampa about when he's going to start predicting Boise State in a BCS game. Mandel makes a good point though. The Big Ten is gaining ground on Boise State quite rapidly with both Michigan and Wisconsin on its heels. Couple that with Ohio still remaining uncertain and just getting to no. 16 isn't going to necessarily cut it.
Brad Edwards hoping Boise State can make the BCS
Brad Edwards answered some twitter comments and one comes from @BoiseCalvin who is also a NUGgie! Congrats on that, Calvin. Anyways, although Edwards doesn't necessarily think that Boise State's chances at making the BCS are that great, he does hope they can crash the party after the way they got left out last year for teams like Michigan and Virginia Tech.
